NYC MATH REVOLUTION CONVENING
The next equation for nyc solves
Every student is a math person. We must give every NYCPS student the skills and confidence to reach algebra, calculus, and beyond, and to use math fluently in college, career, and civic life.
On October 21, 2026, Educators for Excellence–New York and partners will host the first NYC Math Revolution Convening, a half-day gathering to help shape the next chapter of math education across New York City Public Schools. Charting the road ahead for a New York City Math Revolution, educators, advocates, researchers, and funders will come together with NYCPS leaders on the vision for math, share what is working and what needs to shift, and begin building a shared ecosystem roadmap, while naming the Policy, Practice, and Partnerships components that will grow, sustain, and improve math for every learner in NYC.
NYCPS Chancellor Kamar Samuels will offer opening remarks at the convening. The convening lays the groundwork for a broader Math Revolution gathering in the spring of 2027.
